There’s so much “out there” to worry about all the time. Relationships. Career. Misfortune. Current events. No matter how cleverly or cautiously we try to avoid problems, we still encounter them. We may think There’s nothing I can do. We feel uncertain, overwhelmed, distraught, anxious.
Buddha teaches that it’s our customary ways of thinking that lead us to distress, and if we want to change the world we experience, we start by changing our thoughts. It’s not possible to control the external world (even though we try to!), but through meditation it is possible to control our mind, developing a peaceful mind, helping us transform every difficulty in our lives to opportunities, helping us to face problems with wisdom.
Restorative Yoga:
Restorative Yoga incorporates the use of many props to support the body in longer held restful poses. Mindfulness, breath awareness, and ambient sounds or music accompany this practice to help you rest more deeply into presence. Restorative Yoga supports and helps restore healthy rhythms of digestion, respiration, and endocrine function, and can help with a variety of chronic pain conditions, digestion issues and stress-based illnesses. Ayurvedic principles and Yoga Nidra are also woven through this practice to support seasonal wellbeing and nurture deep stillness.
