About |
Dr. Meg Chunag, ND, LAc: Professional and compassionate, your best cheerleader on the journey to a better health.
Dr. Meg Chuang is a Naturopathic Doctor and Chinese Medicine practitioner whose treating philosophy is heavily influenced by the wisdom of both the Eastern and Western views of health and well-being. While she sees a human being an integral part of Nature, she also understands the value of individuality. The sociocultural and humanistic aspects of patient care are of great importance to Dr. Chuang. She strives to provide patients culturally-sensitive and trauma-informed care.
Dr. Chuang offers a variety of treatment modalities to serve patients with different needs in their quest for better health. Her treating principle is based on the salutogenic model of health with the use of evidence-based modalities to help patients achieve their health goals in a safe, gentle, holistic, and sustainable way. In the salutogenic model, the emphasis is placed on factors that contribute to one’s overall well-being. The goal is not to fight disease, but to help regulate the body and encourage it to restore its innate abilities to fend for itself when it is under physical or mental-emotional stress.
Dr. Chuang is a healer, an educator, and a cheerleader for her patients. She helps patients understand all aspects of their health care and make the journey to better health easier and less confusing.
Personal Interests:
Dr. Chuang lives in Portland, OR with her husband Andrew. When she is not learning random knowledge of all kinds from YouTube videos, she enjoys cooking and baking for her husband, colleagues, and friends. One of her favorite pastimes is cooking with Andrew while music she selects for the dishes plays in the background. Music is her secret ingredient for the many tasty treats created in her kitchen. Dr. Chuang is also coffee aficionado. (Almost) nothing makes her happier than successfully brewing a cup of well-balanced pour-over coffee at home. Apart from food and drink, she loves traveling, reading classic literature, drawing, crafting, and photography.
